11-14-2025 - Good Morning! It's Friday. I have Morse code running in the background while my coffee is brewing! Yes, I'm an Amateur (ham) Radio Operator, and my favorite mode is CW, which is Morse code. My only Mail Order task today is to mail some "site announcement" postcards to jumpstart the new Mail Dealer Ads PDF publication. Are you preparing your ads for submission? I might have mentioned that I received some postcard stamps from USPS yesterday. This morning, I got an email from USPS saying my order had been shipped and I could expect it on Thursday, the 13th. Well, okay! My Folgers Black Silk coffee is ready!
--- Did you know that there are always several licensed Amateur (ham) Radio Operators aboard the International Space Station? They make regular contacts with schools around the globe via ham radio. They also answer randio calls from Earthbound hams. (Google ARISS Amateur Radio). You can listen to these transmissions on an inexpensive scanner radio! (Google Uniden Scanner Radio). You can make contact with a $35 handheld radio (Google Baofeng UV-5R) and $150 handheld directional antenna! (Google Arrow Antenna). Hams can also talk to other hams across the country using the repeater aboard the ISS. All you need is an Amateur Radio licence. No Morse code necessary!
--- A few days ago, I received an advertising offer that involved posting my ads to a "business opportunity website". The ad failed to include the website address. This is a missed opportunity to promote the website and the ads on it. I'm going to pass on this offer. On another occasion, I wrote to the owner of a similar ad to ask for the web address. I was told that it would be supplied when I submitted an ad. What if it's a site that I don't want to associate with? No sale! He probably didn't want to give me the address because I could order directly from the website, circumventing his efforts. I can't blame him.
+++ A visitor to Las Vegas received the cook's tour - he was baked in the sun, stewed at the bar, and burned at the craps table.
--- According to a portion of a story I read, financial experts say you need between $3 and $5 million to retire comfortably. I say "portion of a story" because I stopped reading right after the $3 to $5 million part, and that was the first sentence. Do you know what this means? It means I will be very uncomfortable for the rest of my days! Do you know who will be very comfortable? Those folks in the Mail Order publications who are promoting the various things and touting outrageous income figures, topped off with a photo of an exotic car and a mansion. Well, that’s what they’d like you to believe.

--- The USPS governors have approved shipping service price increases as follows: approximately 6.6 percent for Priority Mail, 5.1 percent for Priority Mail Express, 7.8 percent for USPS Ground Advantage, and 6 percent for Parcel Select. The changes will take effect January 18, 2025. The governors had previously announced that mailing service prices would not increase in January.
11-13-2025 - Good Morning! It's Thursday. About 30 years ago, I bought a booklet "How To Start and Operate a Profitable Homemade Booklet Business", written and published by Don Massey. Not long after, I bought Don's video featuring the actual operation of his business. Both are gold! I'm sure they're out of circulation. I couldn't find either on eBay or Amazon. On Amazon, Rufus AI kept popping up, wanting to help. Go back to bed, Rufus! My Folgers Black Silk coffee is ready.
--- From Wikipedia: "In microeconomic theory, the opportunity cost of a particular activity is the value or benefit given up by engaging in that activity, relative to engaging in an alternative activity." This is what I think about when I see these folks spending their day fighting with others on Twitter over politics and other issues. It raises their blood pressure but doesn't pay a dime. Then there's binge-watching one series after another on the streaming services. Entertaining but not profitable. Alternative? Start an extra income Mail Order business!

--- I was about 12 years old when I made my first “mail order” purchase. I ordered a set of headphones for a “crystal radio” I was going to build from an electronics catalog. The cost was $1.15. That should tell you it was a very long time ago. I completed the order form and deposited it, and $1.15 in coins, into an envelope. I put a stamp on it and mailed it. About 10 days later, I received my headphones. I don’t remember adding anything for shipping. I know I didn’t put more than one stamp on the envelope, which had to weigh over an ounce. I don’t know if the Post Office requested additional postage from the company. I guess the company knew they were dealing with a know-nothing kid and had mercy. Speaking of coins in the mail, the last U.S. penny was minted yesterday. After a 230 year run, it's time to retire.
--- According to an online news item, U.S. Home foreclosures are up 19% from this time last year. This is just another signal that it’s past time to start that “extra income” business.
--- The most exciting thing received at the Dealer Ad Exchange HQ was USPS postcard stamps. I'll use them to mail more "site announcement" postcards.
11-12-2025 - Good Morning! It's Wednesday, whatever that means to you. The Post Office is up and running after a Veteran's Day break. I know some of you are probably still suffering from "No Mail" withdrawal symptoms. Relief is just a few hours away. I need to get a few more "site announcement" ads in the mail. Right now, it's Folgers Black Silk coffee time!
--- I've had this long-standing policy of not paying too many visits to websites that don't change much. I just visited a one-page website that looks like it hasn't changed in months. I'm scratching it off my list. I already know what it says, so there's no need to check it time and again. If something new pops up, I'll miss it because I've been conditioned to believe it'll never change. This is why I post content throughout the day. You know, when you come to this site, there is an excellent chance of finding new content.

--- Today, I received two of the same gifting programs in the mail, from different dealers. I get a lot of mail for this program, and have for several years. Someone is making money with it. I don't do programs, but why would I do this one? Who would I mail it to that hasn't already seen it? Ill pass.
--- I saw a few more ads claiming I could earn a huge amount of money by following the plan or program they promoted. There were no details because these were just 1-inch display ads. Is it fair to assume this person has made a lot of money from these programs, given that they're trying to pawn them off on me and others? And if they've made a ton of money, why is it that they can only afford a 1-inch display ad? I use 1-inch display ads all the time, but you won't see me making any income claims. I use them to get people to this site.
11-11-2025 - Good Morning! It's Veterans Day. If you are a veteran, I thank you for your service to our country. There is no mail today. I wonder if dedicated Mail Order Dealers have withdrawal jitters on these mail holidays? My Folgers Black Silk coffee is ready!

--- From the U.S. Postal Inpection Service - A five-month investigation led to the arrest and guilty plea of former U.S. Postal Service (USPS) employee Troy McDougle, Jr., 31, of Columbia, SC, for conspiracy to commit bank fraud and wire fraud. The joint investigation was carried out by the U.S. postal inspectors, and USPS Office of the Inspector General (OIG) special agents.
--- I saw an ad that said something like "I'm looking for 20 lazy people. . . " Well, there should be no problem completing that task! Another ad advised people to send a quarter (25¢) to each of the listed participants. I don't think I've ever seen that one before.
I saw another ad for a 100% dealership. The item cost $20 and 10 First Class stamps. When you receive an order, you keep the $20 and send the 10 stamps to the prime source. Ten stamps = $7.80. That's a $27.80 transaction. That's not 100%. Stamps are money. It's not that the split is unfair; it's just that not everyone will agree that the description is accurate. Maybe leave out the 100%?
