12-01-2025 - Good Morning! It's Monday, and the first day of December. From the U.S. Federal Trade Commission - The Federal Trade Commission will require education technology provider Illuminate Education, Inc. (Illuminate) to implement a data security program and delete unnecessary data to settle allegations that the company’s data security failures led to a major data breach, which allowed hackers to access the personal data of more than 10 million students. In a complaint, the FTC alleged that Wisconsin-based Illuminate claimed to protect the privacy and security of the data it maintains but failed to deploy reasonable security measures to protect student data stored in cloud-based databases. These failures led to a major data breach. My Folgers Black Silk coffee is ready.

--- Today I received a letter that reads "How To Get 1 Million People To Send You $50 Cash". By my way of thinking, it would be fair for me to assume that this person has made $50 million and wants to show me how to do it. But why? Why not just keep getting those $50 gifts? Why let me in on the deal? Better yet, why isn't this person enjoying a cool beverage on an exotic island somewhere instead of stuffing envelopes? Hmmm.

--- Also in the mail were some postcard stamps and new Jimmy Carter First Class stamps I ordered from the USPS. I also received advertising acknowledgements from Steve Parsons (Liberty Press) and William Davis for online exposure at Dan Gill Web Ads and print exposure from a self-mailed adsheet.

11-30-2025 - Good Morning! It's Sunday, and I'm reminded of an Old George Carlin joke: "Somewhere out there is America's worst doctor, and someone has an appointment with him (or her) tomorrow!" Why would I think of such a thing? Because I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow! I’m still waiting on that first ad for the Dealer Ad Exchange. My Folgers Black Silk coffee is ready.

--- A few years ago, there was a push to get General Chuck Yeager on a postage stamp. I have not seen one, so I guess it didn’t happen. A search for “Chuck Yeager” on the USPS website returned no results. There was a stamp issued in 1997 celebrating the 50-year anniversary of the first supersonic flight, but it depicted the aircraft flown by Yeager, a Bell X-1 “Glamorous Glennis”, not Yeager. Maybe the effort was forgotten. I read Yeager's biography some years ago. He was quite an interesting character.

--- It seems that many folks in the extra income Mail Order business who put up websites also host dealer advertising. Most host ads exclusively and contain little or no editorial content. This is fine. Can you do both - host ads and generate content for visitors to read and enjoy? You can, but you might have to be more selective about what you write and what you accept as advertising. Conflicts would have to be minimized. You might have to hand-pick the ads you allow. This "exclusivity" and the fact that your site consists of more than just advertising might allow you to charge a little more!
