I see an ad in an Extra Income Mail Order publication that says, “For a copy of my report, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to ...” I send that envelope, knowing it will take a few days to get there and a few more days for that item to get back to me. No instant download compares to the joy of anticipation and the act of opening that envelope when it arrives. The only thing better is when you open an envelope and cold, hard cash falls out for something you’ve sold. This is why I love Mail Order buying and selling. Yes, we put cash into envelopes! No, it's not a bad thing like running with scissors! I haven't lost a dime in 30+ years!
I was looking at my copy of a 1950 issue of Mail Sale Advertiser. Thumbing through it and the accompanying enclosures, there is not a gifting or MLM program to be found. This was a time when actual products and services filled the publications from cover to cover. Now, you don't have to turn a page before finding some type of money-making program. They're everywhere you look.
The evolution of money-making programs was bound to happen. It’s human nature to devise ways to make money. Programs are fine, but let's not forget the actual products and services, the "tools of the trade" of the Extra Income Mail Order industry. I'm talking about the things that Mail Order Dealers need to conduct day-to-day business, including straight commission dealerships.
